Manawatu Afghan Society Inc

Manawatu Afghan Society formerly known is Afghan Palmy Community had been operating in Palmerston North over 5 years. It was registered as a society under its new name in January 2020. The Society is a non-for-profit and non political organization.

The Prime purpose of this society is to provide support and assistance to Afghan community in Manawatu particularly Palmerston North enabling them to integrate into New Zealand Society quickly and smoothly.

The society promote active participation of the society members in wide range of cultural, social, educational, commercial and sports activities. It encourage the society member to showcase their culture and promote cultural diversity.

The society focus on learning and preserving Afghan Culture and social norms in addition to learning new cultures and ethics, by facilitating Dari classes, cultural activities and get together.

Empowering Afghan women and younger generation in a socio-economic environment, capacity building, job hunting and sports activities are another major focus area for the organization.
