A new section on our website is dedicated to sharing the inspiring stories of New Zealand’s ethnic communities.
Ethnic communities now account for 22 percent of the population, making Aotearoa a super diverse nation. They bring unique experiences and perspectives and make New Zealand a more interesting place to live.
We want to highlight some of the amazing work ethnic community groups, organisations and individuals are doing. Our new ‘Community Stories’ project is a collection of stories about ethnic communities. Each month we will profile a different group, organisation or person and describe the various ways they are contributing to New Zealand’s cultural landscape, society, and economy. We will also share these in a new series on our social media channels.
‘Community stories’ will feature stories about exemplary individuals from ethnic communities. It will also include stories about ethnic groups, organisations and individuals who are helping create a more inclusive and cohesive society.
